How Power Play Works
A Virtual, Cohort-Based Experience
Live virtual 60-minute sessions covering essential professional skills: business communication, strategic thinking, personal branding, and networking. Athletes build career readiness
while companies gain access to better-prepared talent.Each athlete is paired with a former athlete turned business leader for monthly one-on-one sessions. Athletes receive personalized guidance and an insider's perspective on transitioning to business, while mentors shape the next generation of leaders and expand their professional networks.
Student-athletes complete short-term, project-based internships with real companies. Athletes gain hands-on experience, build their portfolios, and establish professional relationships. Companies evaluate talent through defined deliverables and real work performance-creating a direct path to identifying and securing top performers.

Cohort Information
Power Play runs in cohort cycles with 10-20 athletes per cohort. Athletes participate virtually, making the program accessible regardless of location or competition schedule.
Application Process:
Athletes complete an application, participate in an interview, and undergo a reference check. The Torchlight team selects cohort participants based on readiness, commitment, and potential.
